In
previous comments, we have said that the Castro's #ConstitutionalReform Vs #VarelaProject is absurd, antiscientific, antidemocratic, rude joke and a major
political blunder of the Castros. And it is that scientifically speaking, as
everything is born, grows, reproduces and dies; ideas emerge, improve and
change; and even more when they are born with contradictions as the Cuban 1976 Constitution.
In 2002 the Cuban lawyer with a master's degree in law from the University of
Harvard, #NestorCarbonellCortina, said in his lecture "TRANSITION AND
CONSTITUTION", presented at the Association of Study of the Cuban Economy
(ASCE): "... there is not a single democratic principle in the
Constitution that its own text does not contradict. There is not one right that
its own precepts do not violate or nullify.." Article 5 of the
Constitution establishes: The #CommunistParty of Cuba, a follower of Martí’s ideas and of Marxism-Leninism, and the
organized vanguard of the Cuban nation, is the highest leading force of society
and of the state, which organizes and guides the common effort toward the goals
of the construction of socialism and the progress toward a communist society. There comes to
mind the joke that #Marxism-Leninism should be art, not science, because if it
were science, It must have been tested on animals first. And it's true; this
doctrine failed in every country in the east, after oppressing them and violating
their rights for half a century; and in Cuba, more than 2 million exiles
testify Castro's failed Socialism, which could be compared to a poorly
constructed building that after passing 56 years begins to collapse and should be
underpinned lest it falls suddenly. Perhaps fearing that fall, #Castro had
the silly idea of reforming Article 137 of the Constitution to delay the fall
of his battered communist dictatorship. I think the time has come, that with a
view to project a political transition on the island, as Castros' totalitarian
dictatorial regime consumes itself in its utopian pseudo improvised and
inefficient communist system, Cubans peacefully try to correct the Cuban
Constitution, in order to achieve later a real democratic constitution that
represents the interests of the nation and not an elite social group or
particular family. But
first we must submit precisely Article 137 to referendum which legally prevents
any analysis and projection of a new democratic and prosperous #Cuba as a nation
of all Cubans in exile and in the island. Shortly a Petition will be started on
the web for Cubans to demand a new referendum on the amendment of Article 137
of the Constitution of the Republic of Cuba. We expect support from exile. To
